Your guide to Starbucks this summer! (New cards, Frappes, Tumblers)
May 1 has kicked in and so is the scorching heat of the sun because of summer! I'm sure everyone's finding an escape from the intense heat. You can most probably see me lounging at (you've guessed it) Starbucks. HAHA For the past weekends, I've found myself staying in Starbucks to blog and work on different stuff. (Say hello should you see me in one of their branches).
Since we have no choice but to embrace summer, Starbucks has launched exciting stuff to make this weather more bearable. You've probably heard about their new frappuccino flavors: Tea-ramisu Frappuccino and the Midnight Mocha Frappuccino.
TEA-RAMISU FRAPPUCCINO
Being an avid fan of Japanese matcha, I was more than excited to try this drink out. However, I got underwhelmed when I saw a few matcha floating in my drink. *sad reacts* I initially wanted more in my beverage. But after giving this one a try, it was definitely a unique experience from the hint of the cheesecake taste blending with the matcha, down to the crunchiness of the cookie crumble. I have to say it was a well-thought-of drink. It may not be a "Matcha to the Max" for me but it definitely hit home.
The Tea-ramisu Frappuccino is delightful beverage is a blend of creamy cheesecake milk with thick Japanese Matcha topped with whipped cream and green tea cookie crumble.

MIDNIGHT MOCHA FRAPPUCCINO
Did you know that the first drink I ever loved at Starbucks is their Dark Mocha Frappuccino? Upon hearing the new concoction on their famous mocha frappe, I can't help but give it a try, too. Though I'm personally not a fan of whipped cream, I like the fullness of this drink in every sip.
This edgy and intriguing all-black Frappuccino is a luscious and velvety fusion of rich, bittersweet black cocoa powder, coffee and java chip with whipped cream filling and topping, dusted with black cocoa powder.

Jonas and I played food critics at the latest drinks of Starbucks and clearly found our favorites! Midnight Mocha for him and Tea-ramisu for me. 💚
NEW STARBUCKS CARDS
Also, new season means new cards were dropped at Starbucks branches near us! Today, May 1, 2018, (yes, I just got these cards and is writing about them at the moment), the newest colorful Frappuccino ® Cards and the special Mother's Day card are already up for grabs!

STARBUCKS MENU
While I haven't tried the new savory dishes at Starbucks yet, I figured out that the new Pistachio Dome deserves a section on this blog post! I admit I've judged this cake based on how it looks from the shelves. Little did I know that giving this cake a try will change my thoughts about it.
I didn't expect the creamy pistachio, white chocolate mousse with vanilla and chocolate-layered cake to complement well. I was captivated by the real taste of pistachio in every bite. The chopped pistachio nuts on top is also a good touch to it. FAVE CAKE ATM! 💚
STARBUCKS MERCHANDISE
This green tumbler looks really cute! This is one of my favorite releases in Starbucks PH, I guess. Though they only come in a tall size, I found the tropical leaves design of the cup nicely done. Also, I like the fact that they adopted the lid design of the Starbucks Philippines 20th anniversary tumbler. This lid can be deconstructed so it can be washed properly. Perfect for those who drink their coffees on tumblers (like me)!
If you're the type to go bold this summer, this collection might work for you instead. Choose between the pastel tumblers or the color-blocked ones! 💙💚💛💜
STARBUCKS MOBILE APP
It's right about time! Finally, Starbucks Philippines rode the bandwagon and created a local app to make every customer experience efficient and hassle-free. As soon as I heard the good news, I downloaded the app and was surprised at what it can do!
Aside from the fuzz-free registration and log-in through the newly-launched app, it is easier to track the beverage stars and rewards on our phones. We can also now pool different Starbucks Cards into one account and deactivate a lost Starbucks Card within the app. (This app came in handy when I reached my card limit!!)
With all its app features, I particularly loved the “Shake to Pay” feature that allows a customer to shake their phones and bring up a barcode within the app that can be scanned to pay and redeem. The balance is automatically updated with a click of the refresh button. Aside from that, this barcode can also be used to reload the Starbucks account at the counter. No need to look for the starbucks card that's buried in your wallet or bag. HAHA (Just talking from experience here, LOL.)

May 30: Candymint Frappuccino Blended Beverage
You can never go wrong with chocolate, mint, and coffee. Our classic Mocha Frappuccino® with extra chocolate flavor is infused with mint syrup for a splash of cool, complementing the intense coffee notes of this drink. Chocolate drizzle over regular whipped cream lends more chocolatey goodness to this beverage.
